Looking for a unique, pre organized, fully guided tour for your day in Burnie? Look no further, we have
you covered. Enjoy the scenic experience of our “special corner of the world”
whilst being driven around the beautiful Tasmanian coast in a modern,
accommodating 11-seater van. Coastline Tours Tasmania is the perfect mix of
sightseeing around our beautiful countryside as well as tasting locally
produced gourmet food and beverages.
Meet & Greet at the Information
Centre, you will be transported in a shuttle bus directly from the ship.
Whilst travelling through Burnie,
known as the city by the sea, you will be transported to Campbell’s lookout to
capture the magnificent views over the coastal city.
Whilst travelling inland you will
visit Guide Falls Waterfall and capture the stunning views, peaceful sounds,
and gentle mist of the fresh Tasmanian water. The Viewing platform located at
the top of the falls is easily accessible via steps, creating the perfect photo
opportunity to capture the waterfall in all its beauty.
Making a stop into Hellyer’s Road
Whisky Distillery award winning single malt whiskeys, vodkas, and liqueurs
(optional) is a must see for whiskey connoisseurs as it is one of Australia’s
best single malt whiskey distilleries.
Visit Fernglade Reserve and take a
magnificent walk among large, spectacular fern trees along the Emu River. The
reserve offers long walks along the banks of the Emu River, leaving plenty of
opportunity to see wildlife including the rare platypus, who are known to
lounge on the river surface.
Leaving Burnie, you follow
the coast passing through the seaside towns of Sulphur
Creek, Preservation Bay, Penguin & Ulverstone. Stop at Hiscutt park in
Penguin for morning tea, this park has a platypus, they are very elusive, fingers
crossed they are around to say hi.
Calling into Braddon’s Lookout where
you can view chequer board countryside and crops as far as the eye can see. The
lookout is named after Sir Edward Nicholas Coventry Braddon who arrived in
Tasmania in 1878 taking place as the premier from 1894-1899.
Passing through the City of Devonport,
we will stop at an old lighthouse, standing tall on the top of the Bluff. From
here you will see sweeping views over the Devonport coastline.
Our next stop is a chocolate lovers heaven. Located in the sweet little town of Latrobe, Anvers Chocolate and Fudge
Factory known for the award winning truffles, fudges, and specialty chocolates
that are all a guaranteed delight. Stick around to sample and see how the
chocolate is made from the production platform.
Time to weave your way back to
Burnie, passing through apple and pear orchards, also visiting a local vineyard.
In time to board your shuttle bus and return to your cruise ship. To end the tour, we will call into the
local Berry Patch for a yummy berry ice cream (our treat).
